The OPB350 series are liquid sensors designed to work
with 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4" Outside Diameter clear tubes. With the
addition of output reference circuitry, multiple output states can be
recognized such as:
Fluid is present
No fluid is present
No tube is present
•
With no liquid present, the output
phototransistor is sinking a small amount of current.
•
When no tube is present, the output
phototransistor is sinking a larger current than the no liquid state.
•
When clear liquid is present, the output
phototransistor is sinking the maximum current.
•
With a dark liquid, the output
phototransistor is sinking a minimum amount of current.
As bubbles pass through the tube, the signal will vary
between the no liquid and liquid present states.
Smaller Outside Diameter tubes may be used if the tube
is sized up to one of the standard sizes and is fitted properly in the
housing opening. For example, fluid in a 1/16" outside diameter tube can
be sensed if a piece of
1/8" outside diameter, 1/16" inside diameter tube is
used as an adapter.
